SUMMER CRAFT SESSIONS

WEEKLY SESSIONS IN AUGUST LED BY ARTIST AND EDUCATOR MAYA RONCHETTI FOR 6 – 11 YR OLDS

Each session will begin with a Cornish myth followed by a craft activity relating to the themes of the tale. Children are encouraged to bring their imagination, wear old clothes, and be open to the magic. Each session will be based around a poem written by Adrian Rodda; a Cornish poet who writes poems based on local folk tales and Cornish myths.

THE MERMAID OF ZENNOR’S CORAL CASTLE

The Mermaid of Zennor is a story of a mermaid living down off the cliffs of Zennor. Maya will read the poem The Mermaid of Zennor by Adrian Rodda and the children will imagine the ocean castle and home of the mermaid who lives off the coast of Cornwall. They will use clay, recycled and found materials to form where they imagine she might live under the sea.

Children are advised to wear old clothes.

£10 per person, all materials provided. To book please email Maya at [email protected]
