SELECTED WORKS 2020-2024

Richard Bell is a British abstract artist. Influenced by the modernist histories, artists, and landscape in Cornwall he has returned to the area on many occasions. Paintings for this exhibition were initially envisaged during Covid lockdown when he stayed with family in Lostwithiel.

His practice has long been focussed on the elasticity of form and colour in abstract painting. His layering of colour planes on a shallow painted surface is developed further by the painting of physical levels and depth which he has called ‘relief-painting’.
