THE JERWOOD NEWLYN RESIDENCY – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

We are delighted to announce an invitation to artists to apply for one of six residencies to take place at the gallery between May 2020 and August 2021. This is the first of two calls, inviting applications for residencies between May and October 2020. The second call will be advertised in June 2020. Applicants must be in the first 10 years of their practice and be UK-based. We invite applications for residencies of between one and six months duration.

In 2019 we were awarded funding from Arts Council England to create new exhibitions and creative projects using the Arts Council’s fantastic collection of more than 8,000 artworks by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.

The Arts Council Collection National Partners Programme is an exciting new strand to our work at the gallery and will enable us to broaden our engagement with new audiences and connect even more artists and their work to Cornwall.

As a direct result of winning this funding, we are creating a number of new positions within the gallery team to help deliver this exciting programme.

We recruited for two new roles and will soon be recruiting for additional roles. Details will be on this page and on social media.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Volunteers’ enthusiasm and commitment contribute greatly to the culture and ethos of the galleries. If you have some time to spare, an interest in contemporary art and enjoy meeting people, then volunteering with us could be for you.

We are currently looking for volunteers to support our front of house team, help with administrative tasks and to carry out surveys and evaluations with our visitors. If you can give a regular commitment of as little as half a day a week or fortnight, we’d love to hear from you.
