MAKING WATERCOLOURS FROM SOIL AND STONE

14 Oct 2023

11:00 — 13:00

The Engine Room, The Exchange

WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS

In this workshop, you will learn how to process pigment, soil and stone to create a set of six watercolours. While you will mainly work with local stone and soil samples, you will also have the opportunity to access a small selection of French ochres and Italian greens.

Workshop led by Tegen Tossell, a Cornwall-based artist with an MA in Arts and Place from Dartington. Their practice is concerned with the changing environment and Tegen often works with natural materials to explore relationships between people and place.

£45 per person, booking essential. Maximum of 12 particpants.
All materials will be provided, this includes the watercolour pans, but please bring a small container or tin to take away your paints in.
Please wear old clothes and/or an apron.

Inspired by The Art of Making this workshop explores materiality and making, informed by personal experience, geographical location and curiosity.
