Tea, Cake & Art 2023: Out & About

THANK YOU!

Our Christmas Crowdfunder this year raised more than £2,500 in individual donations and gift aid, which has enabled us to apply for match funding from other funders that will hopefully double our total.

Tea, Cake & Art is, of course, our long-running, regular group for older and isolated people who create together, with manifold benefits to their own mental health, wellbeing and self confidence, and the general cheerfulness of the gallery.

We received 62 donations from 55 brilliant donors and sent out one Bag of Art, three Christmas Parcel Kits, five Tea and Cake vouchers, five Pay-it-Forward tea and cakes, 42 Christmas concert tickets …. and, unexpectedly, a partridge in a pear tree! We also sold more tickets for the lovely Friends in Harmony concert across the counter and eight packets of the wonderful Tea, Cake & Art group’s handcrafted cards online and in the shop, which will all add more to the total.

We are looking forward to better weather and making Tea, Cake & Art field trips to The Community Garden, libraries, museums, and the seashore, all thanks to our brilliant donors and supporters, creating connections and broadening the offer to marginalised people. In the meantime, a Happy New Year from everyone here at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange and the Tea, Cake & Art participants!
