Tea, Cake & Art is a creative social group for people over 65 who feel isolated or lonely, and who would like to meet others and explore creative activities together in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Feeling isolated can have many roots – living alone, grieving, having caring responsibilities, socio-economic circumstances, anxiety, access barriers due to health – and many more. While you can refer yourself, we want to ensure this offer reaches those most in need of it and we work closely with social prescribing links and other partners in the area.
We asked our group members to describe what Tea, Cake & Art means to them. Their answers ranged from Creative to Mess, Essential, Human, Lifeline, and Fun! These three-word snapshots capture the spirit of the group – a vital, welcoming space for older people experiencing isolation or loneliness.
To keep the programme running free and open to those over 65 living with isolation, we need to raise £3,000 towards the annual cost of more than £15,000. Every donation makes a difference, from a £6 pay it forward to an annual business sponsorship of this brilliant group for £1,000.
As a thank you, we’re offering a range of Crowdfunder rewards, including original artworks created by the group. You can also support the campaign by visiting their current exhibition, The Creative Quarter, at The Exchange, which has selected works for sale, and 100% of proceeds going directly to the fundraiser.
Please consider donating, sharing, and spreading the word – and help us keep Tea, Cake & Art going in 2025 and beyond.
