The Craft Behind Surfing

Surf School seeks to show surf culture as a respected craft form, presenting a selection of designers, photographers and filmmakers  who have made surfing their business, and craftspeople who capture the balance between design and nature.

The exhibition will  delve into the origins of cold water surfing with the film I Knew Jack O’Neill by Hamblin Imagery, a film about Skewjack, the legendary surf village at Sennen, and A Road Through Galicia by Luke Pilbeam. Otter Surfboards will be in residence, demonstrating the skill of making a wooden board, and running a workshop for anyone wanting to make their own board. There will also be works by local photographers who focus on surfing, including Dave Muir, Luke Pilbeam, and Jack Johns.

There will be daily workshops and demos, including how to make surf wax.
See Read More below for details of Surf School events.

Exhibitors include Jack Johns, Nick Pumphrey, James Parry, Dave Muir, James Otter & Otter Surfboards, Skewjack Stories, Rich Emerson, Bee Bumps Eco Surf Wax, Hamblin Imagery, Luke Pilbeam, and Pete Geall.

£4, booking via Eventbrite, please bring your ticket with you.
