CELEBRATING ACROSS NEWLYN ART GALLERY AND THE EXCHANGE THIS SUMMER

2017 marks ten years since the opening of The Exchange and the redevelopment of Newlyn Art Gallery. To celebrate we are staging a series of celebratory events and launching a fundraising campaign: the Power Of Ten. For the next three years, until 2019, all financial support given by donors, including Gallery Supporter subscriptions, business sponsorship and legacies, will attract match funding from the Arts Council’s Catalyst: Evolve scheme, thereby doubling its value to us.

There will be a number of special events throughout the summer, including talks, workshops, and craft demonstrations, culminating in a celebratory 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner on Sat 11 Nov when we will launch a new Gallery Patrons’ scheme.

As part of the summer exhibition A Certain Kind Of Light, and to mark the anniversary, Cornwall-based artist Peter Freeman has reprogrammed and updated Lightwave, the dramatic artwork illuminating the glass façade of The Exchange that he first created when the Gallery opened in 2007.
