MINDFUL MEDITATION
09.00 – 10.00 Bringing focus to our breath and body.
After a short introduction, we’ll look at what meditation means, and how we can bring the practice into our daily life. Drawing attention to our breathing, we’ll look at how mantras, imagery, sound, and rhythm, can create space in the mind. We’ll finish with a gentle yoga flow and an extended savasana for a mindful morning of meditation.
Bring a mat, and something comfortable to sit on, such as a blanket or cushion.

NEWLYN FERMENTARY
11.30 – 12.30 A talk on small batch lacto-ferments with a light lunch
Lacto fermentation is one of the oldest methods of fermentation, which has been gaining popularity recently because of the many associated health benefits. As well as a general introduction to the health benefits, this talk will focus on how to integrate these health-giving foods into your diet. There will also be a light lunch prepared by Rachel and the Fermentary team.

ANDREW HOWARD – MUSHROOMS: IDENTIFICATION, PHILOSOPHY AND MEDICINE
13.30 – 14.30 A talk on fungi and mushroom tinctures
Andrew is a teacher and maker of medicinal mushroom tinctures under the name Mishu Fungi. He has been foraging for gourmet and medicinal mushrooms for eight years. By the end of the talk, you should be able to confidently identify five medicinal and gourmet mushrooms, know their uses, and the significance of fungi in our ecosystem and lives.

15.00 – 16.00 A talk about medical herbalists and plant remedies
In this talk, Ruth will introduce you to the practice and profession of herbal medicine. We will explore how it works, the science, and research methods used for plant medicine, how herbalists train, what they can treat, and how we can use herbs to support our health at home.

SMOKE SAUNA SISTERHOOD
FILM SCREENING WITH RISING EMBERS SAUNA
19.00 – 20.00 A screening of the acclaimed Finish independent film Smoke Sauna Sisterhood, preceded by a sauna ritual with Rising Embers Sauna
Before the film screening, Rising Embers will be running two Lithuanian Piritus sauna ceremonies, when Nick Tettersell will guide you through four rounds including herb whisking, scrubs, guided meditation, and breathwork.
The ceremonies will run 13.00 – 15.00 and 16.00 – 18.00 allowing ample time to get food and drink, before getting cosy for the movie. Contact Rising Embers Sauna directly to book the sauna sessions.
