WE JOIN BLOOMBERG PHILANTHROPIES’ DIGITAL ACCELERATOR PROGRAM
We are excited to announce our selection for Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Digital Accelerator Program, an initiative supporting 200 nonprofit cultural organisations across the US and UK. This prestigious program is designed to strengthen digital infrastructure, enhance operations, boost revenue, and expand audience engagement.
Addressing Digital Challenges
Participating in this program presents a transformative opportunity for the gallery to tackle digital challenges and unlock new potential.
Planned upgrades include:
- Streamlined Customer Relations Management (CRM): A new integrated system will enhance engagement with supporters and donors, while simplifying subscription management.
- Enhanced Online Shop: A unified platform will seamlessly connect online and physical stock, providing an improved customer experience and driving revenue.
- On-Site Digital Displays: Real-time event information and booking capabilities will make visits more interactive and accessible.
Driving Digital Transformation
Gallery Director James Green shared his enthusiasm for the program:
“Being selected for Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Digital Accelerator Program is a transformative opportunity for Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange. We are thrilled to be part of such a prestigious initiative, especially given the competitive nature of the selection process. This program will help us develop innovative solutions that modernise our digital infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and elevate the online experience for our visitors and customers. We’re excited to get started and bring these projects to life.”
He continued: “With Bloomberg Philanthropies’ support, we plan to consolidate or replace the various systems that have grown organically but inefficiently into a new integrated CRM system. Our goal is to strengthen relationships with all our stakeholders: visiting and remote audiences, creative participants, funders and supporters, artists, curators, as well as third-sector and business partners. By improving communication, streamlining administration, generating income, and reducing costs, we aim to embed resilience into the organisation and secure its future.”
Insights from Our Tech Fellow
Kathy Hill, Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange’s ‘Tech Fellow’, will be at the forefront of this digital transformation. As the Gallery’s nominated Tech Fellow, Kathy plays a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of digital projects as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Digital Accelerator Program. She expressed her excitement about the journey ahead:
“I’m thrilled to be working with my gallery colleagues and our assigned advisor to create the project plan. This is a fantastic opportunity to implement meaningful improvements that will benefit our visitors, staff, and the wider community. Together, we’re building a more connected, innovative future for the gallery.”
Proven Impact of the Digital Accelerator Program
Since its launch, the Digital Accelerator Program has had a profound impact, strengthening nearly 150 cultural organisations across the US and UK. The first cohort of 40 institutions collectively generated $20 million in additional revenue, reached over 1 million new audience members, and engaged more than 4,000 new artists and partners. Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange is proud to join this new cohort, representing diverse artistic disciplines and locations across 52 US and 28 UK cities.
We’ll be posting updates as we embark on this exciting digital journey!
