We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help invigilate Armada, our major summer exhibition by Hew Locke at Newlyn Art Gallery. We also need extra support on our front desks at both Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange when we open daily over the summer months.
Invigilation volunteers are needed at Newlyn Art Gallery until 1 Nov for either a morning shift (10:00 – 13:00) or an afternoon shift (13:00 – 17:00) in the Upper Gallery. The role involves engaging with visitors and ensuring the safety of the artwork. If you’re interested in being part of this exciting exhibition, get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
We also need extra support on our front desks at both Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange when we open daily over the summer months. If you enjoy meeting new people, supporting the arts, and being part of a vibrant team, we’d love to hear from you.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved, learn new skills, and contribute to your local creative community. Volunteers’ enthusiasm and commitment contribute hugely to the culture and ethos of the galleries. If you have time to spare, an interest in contemporary art, and enjoy meeting people, volunteering with us could be for you.
Delivering a rewarding volunteer programme is a vital part of our mandate at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange. Our team of volunteers bring energy and creativity to the gallery spaces every day, as they help us deliver a busy programme of exhibitions, events and workshops, and present the public face of the gallery.
Our volunteers have many different motivations, from gaining experience in a high profile gallery as part of a career in the visual arts, to commecting with like-minded people, playing an active role in the community, or simply learning transferable skills. However, all volunteers have in common an interest in contemporary visual art which they are able to develop and disseminate through their engagement with exhibitions, people and ideas.
