Cornwall Secondary Art Teacher’s Conference

This conference is our annual CPD opportunity for secondary school art teachers and heads of art and includes a peer-to-peer exchange, practical support, creative workshop and talks to invigorate, inspire, and connect.

Each year we consult with teachers in the region to understand current challenges and areas of interest. Informed by this we set our themes and invite relevant educationalists, experts and artists to help shape the day. Alongside this, we aim to work collaboratively with interested teachers to co-develop part of the programme and ensure a strong peer-to-peer element.

In 2024 we focused on tackling cuts to curriculum time and adapting the curriculum for SEND students as core themes. We welcomed Peta Coote from Kooth & Qwell, Paula Briggs from Access Art, Artist, Theo Carter-Weber and Kimberly Pallot, an experienced educator, exam board moderator and council member for NSEAD who led a moderating session.
