HIRING OUR SPACES

Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange has two outstanding, contrasting venues available for hire for your private and corporate events

NEWLYN ART GALLERY

Newlyn Art Gallery is situated in a historical John Passmore Edwards building at the entrance to Newlyn village. An elegant garden area and views over the sea and Mount’s Bay enhance its beautiful coastal position.

The first-floor studio is available to hire for a daytime or evening event for a group of up to 50 people (standing) or 30 people for a seated meal. The large, airy room has a panoramic window and views of Penzance Promenade and Newlyn Harbour. In the summer months The Garden Café area can be included as an additional outdoor space at the back of the gallery.

The Studio is perfect for intimate events of up to 50 people, such as birthday celebrations, an intimate wedding, memorial service or wake, work meeting or awayday, training or workshops with use of the Garden Café if the weather is good.

THE EXCHANGE

Located right in the centre of Penzance, The Exchange retains the industrial feel of the original telephone exchange it occupies. Its striking glass façade transforms this spacious building from a light-filled daytime setting to glorious evening venue.

Our newly refurbished Engine Room is available to hire for a daytime or evening event for a group of up to 110 people (standing) or 60 people for a seated event. Perfect for large groups or blended online sessions, The Engine Room has a fully integrated system and is equipped with AV equipment, including a Panasonic projector screen, 75-inch large TV screen, hanging mic and speakers. It also has two small sinks and storage areas – perfect for art workshops.

Whichever venue you choose, our creative environment and changing exhibition displays will add atmosphere to your event.

 

The yellow chairs used in The Engine Room chairs are made from 70% recycled plastic.

We use low VOC, water-based and bio-based paints throughout our buildings.
