the End—Artists’ Book Fair

09 May — 10 May 2025

The Exchange

FRI 9 MAY 13.00 – 21.00
SAT 10 MAY 10.00 – 16.00

The artists’ book fair will showcase a wide variety of artists’ publications — from traditional hand-painted watercolour books, to more playful interpretations of what a book might be.

Over the two days (Friday 13.00 – 18.00 and Saturday 10.00 – 16.00), individual artists and collaborating groups will be available to talk about their ideas and sell their books.
Taking part:

  • Sue Lewington with her exquisite hand-painted watercolour books
  • CAMP’s Writers KIN group launch their language-based collaborative project, The State We’re In
  • John McDowall showing the artists’ coalition AMBruno’s current project, Intervals
  • Timothy Neat launches GAIA IN EXTREMIS, containing 200 coloured drawings and 200 poems
  • Matt Martin from Toner brings photo books
Ilya Fisher shows her embroidered photo book, Excuses about the Climate Crisis
  • As well as: Bridgette Ashton, Mel Brown, Jacqueline Chettur, Peter Fox, Matt’s Paper Hog, Caroline Pedler, and Jonathan Ward

Many more artists who can’t be there in person will be represented, including Sovay Berriman, Daniel Lehan, Cathy Lomax, Abigail Reynolds, Matthew Richardson, and Tim Shore.

Friday evening (18.00 – 21.00) offers an opportunity for the creative community of DIY book artists and self-publishers to exchange ideas and promote their projects through talks, readings, and performances.

FREE ENTRY, all welcome.
