CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP
Suitable for 6 to 11 year olds.
What happens when river meets sea, and why does it matter?
Together we will take a close look at life on the saltmarsh and the organisms that inhabit these muddy, flat, coastal lands. Through interactive storytelling and making you will put your learnings into practice. You will create your own mudflat tile brimming with tiny creatures and plant life, and we will end the session with a game (psst – Maya will bring her rainbow coloured parachute again!).
£8 per child, booking essential as places limited
Please wear old clothes as we will get messy!
This workshop is led by Maya Ronchetti, a Cornwall based artist often working with natural materials. Maya also works as a teaching assistant in a Cornish School and has enjoyed running craft workshops each year at festivals such as Tropical Pressure. She believes in the importance of creativity in children’s lives, especially if it draws them closer to nature.

- [My grandaughter] absolutely loved the course, she impressed me with the amount she learnt about beavers and with her beautiful artwork. She is still wearing her necklace that she was awarded for becoming a fully qualified beaver and has taken it to school to show her teacher.
- [The children] loved Beaver Training. They were super proud of their clay lodges and drawings, and loved their medals made from the wood that had been chewed by the beavers!
- It was amazing! My favourite bit was examining the wood for marks of Beavers. I liked making my clay lodge. You could go wild with the clay! I’m speechless about it all, as it was so good!
- It was very good. I loved making my clay lodge and learning about how Beaver’s make chimneys. I would definitely go again!
- We were really happy and impressed with the workshop yesterday. My son had lots of fun and would love to come along if Maya did another workshop in the future.
