Learn darning techniques including basket weave and the English square darn to prolong the life of your woollen garments.
In this workshop, you will learn darning techniques to repair the knitwear you have brought along, including the basket weave and the English square darn. If there is time we can also try Swiss darning.
Amy Brock-Morgan is a textiles and repair artist based on the Lizard Peninsula. Drawing inspiration from her surroundings, she transforms discarded materials into something new, breathing life into remnant fabrics and end-of-roll textiles. Her wall hangings are rich with natural forms, reflecting the landscapes of West Cornwall. Alongside her own practice, Amy is Head of the Repair department at Finisterre, a guest lecturer at Falmouth University, and leads community workshops that celebrate the art of repair and sustainability.
