Please join us at a special event to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of John Passmore Edwards.
- 11.45 Meet at Newlyn Art Gallery.
- 12.15 Shallal Dance Theatre will arrive at the gallery with their Mr & Mrs Passmore Edwards puppets created as part of their ‘Best for the Most’ project.
- 12.30 A ceremonial tree-planting by the Mayor of Penzance, Cllr Stephen Reynolds, introduced by James Green, Director, Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange. More than 70 Passmore Edwards buildings, from libraries to hospitals, have been gifted a Rowan tree by Forest for Cornwall, as appropriate, and we are delighted to have one to plant in our garden.
- 13.00 A short performance of poetry and dance by Shallal Dance Theatre followed by a cream tea.
