Artists’ Activism

We are committed to a visible programme of artists’ action dealing with contemporary challenges. We will create a platform for under-served issues that will increase our relevance to a larger part of our community. To do this we recognise the need for an embedded intersectional approach.

We are currently exploring organisational change in terms of equity, diversity and inclusion, working with DASH to challenge our own facilitation and representation of D/deaf and disabled people through training, practice- and process-interrogation and the recruitment of a DASH Future Curator to work with us, informing our programme and shaping changes to our organisation, over 15 months 2025/26.

Our proximity to the sea and our work on the low-lying Isles of Scilly highlight the urgency of our response to the climate crisis. We will continue to use opportunities to programme artists’ climate activism as part of on-site and off-site programmes.
