The Engine Room, The Exchange
HALF-TERM WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AGED 6 TO 11
What can we learn from beavers?
Did you know they are sometimes called nature’s ecosystem engineers? Become a beaver for an afternoon and find out how they influence their environment through drawing, sculpting and play.
£8 per child, booking essential
All materials provided but please wear old clothes as we will get messy!
This workshop is led by Maya Ronchetti who was artist in residence at Cabilla Cornwall in 2022, an upland hill farm on Bodmin Moor with over 100 acres of nationally rare temperate rainforest habitat. The reintroduction of beavers on their site plays a key role in Cabilla’s rewilding strategy and they are part of the Rewilding Britain Network.
Maya works full-time as a teaching assistant in a Cornish School and has enjoyed running craft workshops each year at Festivals such as Tropical Pressure. She believes in the importance of creativity in children’s lives, especially if it draws them closer to nature.
