A workshop for aspiring Curators with Abi Hutchinson, Arts & Culture Lead of Black Voices Cornwall and Cat Bagg, Director of Field Notes
Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange, Black Voices Cornwall, and Field Notes invite aspiring curators and artists to an interactive workshop with Abi Hutchinson, Arts and Culture Lead of Black Voices Cornwall, who will share her experience and learning from curating Captured Beauty at Newlyn Art Gallery, and Cat Bagg, Director and Curator of Field Notes, who will offer an introduction to fundraising.
Black Voices Cornwall exists to enable Cornwall to become an actively anti-racist region. Field Notes is a projects organisation based in Cornwall who commission, develop and present art that finds new ways to break old ground. This event is open to those who wish to gain insight into curatorial practice from a Global Majority perspective.
- 14.00 – 14.30: presentation from Abi Hutchinson on her experience of curating Captured Beauty
- 14.30 – 15.00: An introduction to Fundraising an Exhibition with Cat Bagg from Field Notes
- 15.00 – 15.30: Open session to discuss curation and fundraising ideas or questions
- 15.30 – 16.00: Refreshments
