VOLUNTEER WITH US!
Delivering a rewarding volunteer programme is a vital part of our mandate at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange. Our team of volunteers bring energy and creativity to the gallery spaces every day, as they help us deliver a busy programme of exhibitions, events and workshops, and present the public face of the gallery.
Our volunteers have many different motivations, such as gaining experience in a high profile gallery as part of a career in the visual arts, or simply learning transferable skills. It’s also an opportunity to meet like-minded people or to play an active role in the community. However, all volunteers have in common an interest in contemporary visual art which they are able to develop and disseminate through their engagement with people and ideas.
BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING WITH US
As well as becoming part of a team, improving your career development and working in an important venue for contemporary art, all volunteers receive a 20% discount in the shop and café, as well as for events, workshops and courses. There are also opportunities such as Volunteer Exhibitions and various social events. All volunteers are entitled to free hot drinks while on shift and we cover the cost of lunch for those that volunteer for a full day. We also make a generous contribution to your travel expenses.
