Amy Brock Morgan: Brock: Rock (large Tan)
Amy lives and works on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Her work is created from remnant and repurposed cloth, seeking and finding, then deconstructing and re-working. Layering the old into new, responding to her environment; where land meets sea, the power the land and sea live and guide by. Amongst Amy’s work are circular forms, like those found in nature, imperfect yet balanced and always in motion.
Since discovering the traditional Japanese craft of Boro, Amy’s journey with the art of repair and cloth assemblage deepened. Allowing her to find solutions to work with cloth in balance with nature. Her practice is deeply rooted in interconnectedness and gives reverence to the toil each person has contributed to the manufacturing of the cloth she finds from field to factory, so their efforts live on.
