We would like to offer you the opportunity to participate in an initiative we have developed in collaboration with Anima-Mundi Gallery and Tim Shaw RA.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire new, limited edition artworks by Tim Shaw RA, one of Britain’s leading sculptors, at a special price and, in addition, support an ambitious solo exhibition of his work planned to take place at The Exchange this autumn.

Shaw has produced limited edition bronze and resin maquettes and photographic prints relating to the works featuring in the forthcoming exhibition. These works are being offered at a discounted introductory price exclusively to investors in this initiative.

In addition, investors will be credited in publicity and exhibition information and invited to join Tim Shaw, his gallerist Joseph Clarke, and James Green, Director of Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange for an investor’s reception at the launch of the exhibition.

The Commissioning Circle is open for a limited period and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. You will need to contact Anima-Mundi and make your investment by 31 March 2017.

TIM SHAW RA EXHIBITION AT THE EXCHANGE

This major exhibition will consist of two multimedia installations by Shaw.

In one room Mother, The Air is Blue, The Air is Dangerous, offers audiences a formidable snapshot in time, recalling Shaw’s experience as a 7-year-old boy in Belfast, caught in an IRA bombing of a crowded department store cafeteria on Bloody Friday, 21 July 1972.

In the adjacent room, Soul Snatcher Possession explores how truth can be fabricated and manipulated to suit the needs of those with power. The audience walks amongst eight grotesque, slightly larger-than-life size figures, in a disturbing scene where abuse of power, fear and intimidation is playing out, much like physical theatre.

Further information on this exhibition will be available nearer the time.
