15 Feb — 23 Feb 2013

Newlyn Art Gallery & Off Site

Dreamings was a showcase of work created as part of the Penwith Enrichment Network, by children aged between eight and eleven from the following seven Junior Schools in West Penwith: Heamoor, Nancledra, Pendeen, Trythall, St Just, St Madderns C of E & St Marys C of E.

Expedition leader Amanda Lorens took the children to meet artist Kate Walters who walked and talked them through her exhibition The Secret Worth A Thousand, at Newlyn Art Gallery.

Every Thursday for the following five weeks the children met Amanda at The Exchange and together they continued to explore the themes contained within Kate’s paintings working towards their own very unique hybrid creatures in three dimensional form.
